1. The Concept of Technology.

Technology has different meanings, it could be a tool, an equipment, a configuration, processes, products, knowledge; Dunning 1994 “said that technology has two components, 1) knowledge or technique, 2) doing things.  Technology works to obtain results and solve problems, that´s why the common ideas if we think about technology are; product, production and human.  Its use depends of the field, in every area in the life exists technology.

2. ICTs in Education

Education has changed beyond the classroom, technology improves this area and allows to the students learn anywhere, any time.  Nowadays we can integrate information, communication and technology.  ICT in education has existed ever, before we could see ICTs as radio or TV.  Our generation uses other kind of help as computers, videos, Smartphone, the internet has influenced in its great development making our culture use more resources and has faster information.  “the whole purpose of using technology to teaching is to give better value to students” (Miller et al., 2000).

Besides technology has transformed all the educational system, because now its necessary:

Hardware infrastructure as computers, cameras, connection, all about of digital equipment.

Software that is recourse that helps in learning and teaching process.

Human ware, professionals must know about technology and how it can facilitate their pedagogical process, use in a good way this tool can support the technological infrastructure and include it in a education area, it can be a pedagogical resource.  Then integrate pedagogical y technological ideas can create an appropriate learning environment and this improves teaching and learning process.

 3. The Use of Technology in English Teaching and Learning

The world has changed rapidly, the globalization makes that people need to communicate faster and need to know many things; if we want to survive we have to evolve.  Although technology has always existed in books, videos or any visual aids, nowadays it makes the life simple; for example, it is not necessary go to a classroom to learn English because anybody can take lessons virtually, there are virtual resources that help both students and teachers.

4. The Advantages of Information Technology in Teaching English

It helps to obtain the information faster; people can get dictionaries or books online.

The use of different resources as tablets, computers, smart phones, help to the education environments.

People can learn anytime, anywhere, no schedule problems.

The use of specific software or application makes an interactive environment.

5. The Impact of Using Technology

It could be positive when people use in a good way the technology; this is a tool that facilitates the educational environment.  It allows the students improve their language skills, developing more competences in the language area and for teachers as it helps to create didactics materials as pedagogical aids.
